Artist's Statement:

Many people believe that Japan was the first foreign country to attack the United States of America. That was Pearl Harbor in 1941, but that's not the first attack against us, at least not in the 20th Century. It was gang members and followers of Pancho Villa during the Revolution in Mexico. Though not approved by the Mexican Government, they attacked the Southwestern border of the U.S. in the early 1900s just before WWI.

Pancho Villa became a legend with many stories written and told about him. Several movies were made about his infamous raids into this country, including the George Lucas film, "Chronicles of Young Indiana Jones". Actor Mike Moroff landed the role of Villa and when asked "Was Pancho Villa a hero or villain?" he would reply "It depends on which side of the border you were on."

Hollywood talent agent, Steve Stevens who represents many of the top stars including Mike and myself, secured the contract for Mike to do "Chronicles". He called and asked me to create a painting depicting Mike as Pancho Villa, put the face of the REAL Pancho in the clouds and make it look like an old photograph. So I did and you can see the results. "Pancho Villa" has been extremely popular and is very near being sold out.
